Welcome to this week’s roundup! My pile of videos was lighter than normal this week, but there are some good ones. I’m starting off the week with a couple of local videos. Above, Joe Biel posted a video about the “dinner and bikes tour“. I hadn’t heard of it, but.. bicycles, film shorts, and a seven-course buffet. Sounds perfect. Has anyone gone to it in the past?
Portland is vying in the federal Smart City Challenge. Naturally, it’s proposing a mobile app, because.. apps. It’s an interesting video, well-shot and with locals like Steve Novick, Leah Treat, and both Wheeler and Hales.
Staying with the politician theme, this video out of New York shows a politician being very pro-speed-camera. Given that small traffic speeds lead to drastically higher fatality rates, it’s nice to hear.
As Michael showed us on Monday, archives of the proto-Streetfilms cable access show bikeTV were posted, including old Pedalpalooza footage. This one has discussion of bike lanes in New York, especially Manhattan and Harlem. It’s from 2004 and still contains radical ideas. I’m not surprised to see footage of a bike lane being used for parking.
There was also a full bikeTV episode posted about Portland, showing a bike move, vinyl bike stencil art, the Esplanade, bike signal sensors, Ayleen Crotty’s bike move, the City Repair Project, and more.
Pro racing
Sometimes descending is worse than climbing: some of the worst descents in pro racing.

Honorable Mentions
This week’s honorable mentions: 5-way downhill/enduro bike comparo, 10 mins of Dirty Kanza POV, and a roundup of a bunch of new road/enduro/gravel bikes (warning: race spoilers).
Inclusion criteria: If I’ve missed something, post it in the comments! I prefer videos published in the last week or so. Note if there’s a specific point in a long video that is worth highlighting. Also note if there is colorful language. I will delay videos containing pro racing spoilers by 7 days.
